Prices of bakery items will increase with Palm Oil Ban - Bakery Owners

Colombo (News 1st); The ban on Palm Oil would force a price hike on all bakery products, warned the All Ceylon Bakery Owners' Association. "Palm Oil is an essential ingredient for bakery products and a ban on Palm Oil will impact the bakery industry," said the Chairperson of the All Ceylon Bakery Owners' Association N. K. Jayawardena on Tuesday (06). He urged the government to repeal the ban on Palm Oil imports as the ban would force the closure of all bakeries across the Island. "The price of a loaf of bread will increase by Rs. 10/-," he warned.
