10,000 students to be admitted for Computer Science Degrees: UGC

COLOMBO (News 1st): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to admit 10,000 students for Computer Science degree courses during one admission period. The particular Computer Science degree is affiliated to the Open University, Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) told News 1st on Friday (Mar. 26). According to Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, there are around 40,000 job opportunities related to the field of computer science in the country at present. Those who successfully complete the degree programme will be directed for those job opportunities, the UGC Chairman noted.
