COLOMBO (News 1st): Speaking at the Cabinet briefing held today, Co-Cabinet spokesperson, Minister Udaya Gammanpila said, "As a result of continuing to conduct bussiness in a non profitable manner, the Ceylon Petroleum Corperation has to pay debt to the tune of 600 billion rupees".
"Once the cabinet was informed regarding this threat of bankruptcy on the account of the CPC, a sub committee was appointed under the patronage of the Prime Minister." the Minister said.
He added that the committee will comprise of the Minister of Power, Minister of Energy, Minister of industries and the Minister of fisheries, to create a plan to reverse the bankrupt state of the Ceylon Petroleum Corperation.
