Ex-Chief of CID further remanded

Colombo (News 1st); Ex-Director of the Criminal Investigations Department Shani Abeysekera and two others were further remanded to the 03rd of February by Acting Magistrate of Gampaha Mahesh Herath on Thursday (21). The trio was arrested and charged for fabricating false evidence to mislead the court. The suspects are Shani Abeysekera, Former Sub Inspector Mohana Mendis attached to the Embilipitiya Police, and Retired Sub Inspector H. D. Nawaratne Premathilake. The Colombo Crimes Division leading the prosecution told the court a statement was recorded from Nawaratne Premathilake at the Mahara Prison.
