COLOMBO (News 1st) - A meeting between the committee appointed to study the US tariffs and officials from the US Trade Representative's office is scheduled to take place next week.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development Professor Anil Jayantha Fernando said that the Sri Lankan government's proposal will be presented at the meeting.
Committee members also held discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake yesterday.
Professor Fernando added that they focused on the potential impact of the new tariffs on Sri Lankan exporters and foreign revenue.
US President Donald Trump has imposed a 44% tariff on goods imported from Sri Lanka.
