Over 1,700 Ex-Military Arrested for Organized Crime

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Minister of Public Security, Ananda Wijepala, revealed that approximately 1,700 individuals who had deserted the armed forces and engaged in organized criminal activities have been apprehended.

Minister Wijepala also revealed that a substantial number of illegal firearms circulating within society have been seized by security forces over the past few months.

The Minister emphasized that numerous measures are being implemented to curb organized crime and ensure public safety.
