Ballot Papers for Postal Voting to be Dispatched Only For 114 LG Bodies

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Election Commission said that ballot papers for postal voting will be dispatched for only 114 local government bodies on April 8.

Ballot papers for the remaining 225 local government bodies has been delayed due to ongoing court proceedings.

This decision was reached during a meeting of the Election Commission held this morning.

Postal voting for the local government elections is scheduled for the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of April.

Voters who are unable to cast their votes on those dates will have the opportunity to do so on April 28th and 29th.
