Colombo (News 1st); 04 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed on Saturday (09), by the Director General of Health Services, who added the total fatalities in Sri Lanka rose to 229.
The details of the COVID-19 deaths are as follows :
01. A 74-year-old female from Mount Lavinia. She was identified as a COVID-19 infected person at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital and was transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where she passed away upon admission on the 07th of January 2021. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia and acute asthma.
02. A 64-year-old male from Kattankudy. He was identified as a COVID-19 infected person at the Kalmunai Base Hospital and was transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where he passed away on the 09th of January 2021. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia.
03. A 76-year-old male from Wellampitiya. He was identified as a COVID-19 infected person at the Colombo National Hospital and was transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where he passed away on the 09th of January 2021. The case of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia and blood poisoning.
04. A 58-year-old male from Opanayake. He was identified as a COVID-19 patient at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital and was transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where he passed away on the 08th of January 2021. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia.
