Don't believe everything fed by Politicians

Every citizen should be proud to call themselves Sri Lankan; MP Shanakiyan

Colombo (News 1st); Tamil National Alliance Batticaloa District Parliamentarian Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam who became centre of attention with his vociferous style of speech in Parliament emphasized that each and every citizen of this country needs to feel that they are very much part of this country and they should be proud to call themselves Sri Lankan.

The first-time MP said, for the thinking patterns of the politicians to change regardless of their community, the change should start from the top and the political rights of all citizens in this country should be respected.

Speaking on 'Talk of the Town' on News 1st, added the people of this country as a whole have been ill-treated by successive governments over the last 72 years since Independence.

''Every community has around 10% of rotten eggs, but we shouldn't fall into that trap, the good 90% can get together and make a change'', Rasamanickam said.

He pointed out his main objective is as Sri Lankans everyone has to rally around and move forward to break all barriers and stand up against the ill-treatment of the people.

''Don't believe everything that is fed to you by politicians, they do it to take your attention from the real issues '', Shanakiyan Rasamanickam concluded.
