07 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday (05); death toll rises to 137

Colombo (News 1st);  07 COVID-19 fatalities were confirmed on Saturday (05), said the Director General of Health Services.

Accordingly, the country's death toll as a result of COVID-19 rose to 137, said the Department of Government Information.

The details of the COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday (05) are as follows :

01. A 91-year-old male from Bandaragama. He had passed away at his residence on the 03rd of December 2020. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 infection resulting in cardiac arrest.

02. A 53-year-old prisoner. He had passed away on the 01st of December 2020. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 infection resulting in pneumonia.

03. A 56-year-old female from Dematagoda. She had passed away at the ICU of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) on the 04th of December 2020. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia.

04. An 81-year-old female from Bandaragama. She had passed away her residence on the 28th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 infection resulting in chest infection, exacerbated lung disease and a heart condition.

05. An 84-year-old female from Colombo 13. She had passed away at her residence on the 04th of December 2020. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia.

06. A 66-year-old prisoner at the Welikada Prison. He had passed away at the Prison Hospital on the 02nd of December 2020. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia.

07. A 62-year-old female from Wellampitiya. She had passed away at the ICU of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) on the 05th of December 2020. The cause of death was ruled as diabetes, High Blood Pressure and COVID-19 pneumonia resulting in multi-organ failure.
