Colombo (News 1st); The Government announced it would commence a program aimed at delivering essential items to the households in the areas which are placed under quarantine curfew.
State Minister of Co-operative Services, Marketing Development and Consumer Protection Lasantha Alagiyawanna speaking to News 1st said discussions are in place to re-open food outlets in areas under quarantine curfew in a safe and secure manner in accordance to the health guidelines.
Until the process is finalized, mobile distribution services will be in operation, said the State Minister.
He said the necessary authorities were informed with regard to re-awarding the Rs. 5000/- allowance to affected families in the Gampaha District.
