Total COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka at 2081: Ministry of Health

COLOMBO (News 1st): The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country as of Wednesday (July 8) has risen to 2081, according to the Ministry of Health. A total of 04 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Tuesday (July 7). According to the Government Information Department, a returnee from Saudi Arabia, a returnee from Ethiopia, a Sri Lanka Navy personnel and an inmate at the Welikada Prison, tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. 115 active COVID-19 patients are receiving medical treatment, according to the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health. The total number of recoveries stands at 1955. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 11 people in the country.
