119 people arrested over violations of the election law: SL Police

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police have arrested 119 people so far, over violations of the election law. "Sri Lanka Police received a total of 92 complaints of violence related to the upcoming 2020 Parliamentary Election," Senior DIG Priyantha Weerasooriya - Head of the Police Elections Secretariat, said on Monday (July 6). According to Senior DIG Priyantha Weerasooriya, 22 of the complaints were criminal offences. Senior DIG Priyantha Weerasooriya further said, 31 vehicles were seized over charges of election propaganda.
