COLOMBO (News 1st): The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Presidential Secretariat and SriLankan Airlines repatriated the first group of Sri Lankan students in Singapore who had registered with the High Commission expressing desire to return to Sri Lanka in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic on 06 May 2020 by Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL 303.
The group consisted of 186 students as well as several government officials who were on study tours and training programmes.
All repatriated students and officials will be undergoing mandatory quarantine at designated Government quarantine centres or at hotels allocated for this purpose.
The High Commission wishes to express appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore for the cooperation in this endeavour.
