COLOMBO (News 1st) - A two-week grace period has been granted to remove illegal installations from vehicles, with a deadline set for January 19.
During this period, a pilot project will be launched to educate drivers and the public.
The police have urged the removal of illegal modifications, including additional lights with varying tones or colors, loud horns, and noisy silencers, which contribute to hazardous driving conditions and accidents.
This system will be strictly adhered to and a law enforcement initiative will be implemented to address illegal installations in public transport buses, with agents gathering information to ensure compliance.
