Special Security Arrangements in Colombo for New Year Celebrations, Over 6,000 Police Officers Deployed

COLOMBO (News 1st): A special security arrangement is in place in the Colombo city from today until the 2nd of January.

Director and Police Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police Buddhika Manatunga, stated that more than 6,000 police officers have been deployed for security purposes.

In addition to police officers, state intelligence officers have also been deployed for to ensure safety within the Colombo city limits.

As New Year celebrations leads to an increase in crowds in Colombo and its surrounding suburbs, this security arrangement has been put in place to ensure their safety.
