More samples obtained from Colombo 12 for tests

Colombo (News 1st); A group of 1020 people from Bandaranaike Mawatha in Colombo 12 were moved to quarantine today.

Chief Medical Officer of Health attached to the Colombo Municipal Council Dr.Ruwan Vijayamuni speaking to News 1st said samples obtained from the people living in the entire area would be tested. Speaking to News 1st Dr. Ruwan Vijayamuni said after 31 people tested positive for COVID-19 from the area yesterday, authorities decided to conduct tests in the area at random and from the 91 samples, 05 tested positive. The new cases are from the 107 Watte, 137 Watte, and the 166 Watte. He stressed Bandaranaike Mawatha was placed under lockdown from Armour Street and Quarry Road. He said samples were obtained from these areas as well.
