COLOMBO (News1st): The curfew in the Ratnapura and Pelmadulla police divisions in the Ratnapura District will be in effect until further notice, police said late Thursday.
The districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Puttalam and Jaffna are also under an indefinite curfew to contain the spread of COVID - 19.
Accordingly, the curfew for the remaining 18 districts, and all police divisions in the Ratnapura district except for Ratnapura and Pelamdulla, was lifted at 6 am today and will be re-enacted at 4 pm.
This curfew will be in effect until 6 am on April 14 before being reimposed at 4 pm on the same day.
Travelling through the Ratnapura and Pelmadulla police divisions is strictly prohibited.
In addition, entering or leaving certain areas in the Colombo, Kalutara, and Kandy districts which have been declared as isolated areas, have also been prohibited.
