UPDATE:- 09th and 10th confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Sri Lanka. While one of them is a 56 year old female who returned from Italy, the other patient is a 17 year old girl who is a relative of an already confirmed COVID-19 case.
COLOMBO (News 1st):- Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi said the number of patients in Sri Lanka tested positive for the Coronavirus has risen to 9.
Speaking at a media briefing the Minister added that permission must be obtained from the Police before conducting events or functions that gather a large number of people.
She added the decision was made in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Co Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Bandula Gunawardena also said that prices of certain essential items will be reduced by Wednesday (March 18).
While the total number of patients who were tested for Coronavirus in the country so far, stands at 9, 8 of them are yet receiving in house treatment in Sri Lanka.
