Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, Upul Dharmadasa said according to the instructions received from Sri Lanka Health Authorities, all overseas travel to Sri Lanka, from France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden and Austria will be banned from the 15th of March 2020 for period of two weeks.
This is further to the notice sent by the Director General of Civil Aviation, yesterday, banning air travel from South Korea, Italy and Iran with effect from tomorrow.
The ban will commence on all flights arriving after 15th March and end on 29th of March.
Accordingly, all airlines have been strongly instructed not to board any passengers who are either originating from the aforementioned states or have been to any of those countries, within the last 14 days, on flights destined to Sri Lanka, during the aforementioned period.
