25kg of Turtle meat busted in Iluppukadawai

Colombo (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Navy has apprehended an individual who was in possession of 25kg of Turtle meat. The arrest was made yesterday during a search operation conducted in the Iluppukadawai area. The discovery was made when the Navy searched a suspicious fishing boat in the area The suspect has been identified as a 39-year-old resident of Iluppukadawai. The stock of turtle meat, the suspect and fishing equipment was handed over to the Office of the Fisheries Inspector-Vedithalativu for further action.
