Five Convicted of Murder Sentenced to Death by Colombo High Court

COLOMBO (News 1st): Five people accused of a 2012 murder have been sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court.
The verdict was delivered today by Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe.
The accused were found guilty on three charges, including the brutal killing of a 21-year-old using a blunt weapons.
At the time of the crime, two of the defendants were minors—aged 17 and 15.
Due to their age, the judge has sentenced them to life imprisonment instead of the death penalty.
