Party leaders meeting to take place tomorrow

Colombo (News 1st): A meeting of the Committee of Parliamentary Affairs also referred to as a Party Leaders' Meeting will take place tomorrow. Sergeant at Arms Narendra Fernando said the meeting which will be chaired by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm. Reports suggest that the Party Leaders are set to discuss the possibility of releasing the controversial voice recordings of Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake to the members of Parliament. The Party Leaders who convened last Friday (Feb 7), decided to edit the voice recordings to remove any explicit content and to hand them over to the Parliament Library. Discussions regarding the Parliamentary agenda for the upcoming week will also be held at tomorrow's meeting. Parliament will reconvene at 1:00 pm on February 18th.
