"Internet Paeodophile" arrested by CID

Colombo (News 1st): The Criminal Investigations Department arrested a 21-year-old male for committing child abuse via the Internet.

Sri Lanka Police said the suspect is employed in the IT sector and for a period of three years he had been deceiving school students from Popular Schools in Colombo and surrounding areas.

Police added, the suspect had threatened and intimidated his victims and obtained nude photographs of them and later published them on local and international websites.

Sri Lanka Police requests the general public, especially students who maintain online accounts, never to respond to requests of such nature made via various online accounts.
