COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Presidential Commission probing the April 21st attacks convened today (February 9). Mohamed Razi Mohamed Thasleem, the Coordinating Secretary of former Minister Kabir Hashim testified before the Presidential Commission today.
He had supported the Criminal Investigation Department in its investigations into the vandalization of statues in Mawanella and the recovery of explosives in Wanathavilluwa.
During the sitting, Mohamed Thasleem had suspected that the groups opposing his conduct had been involved in shooting him last year.
While admitting to having supported the Jamaat-e-Islami movement in purposeful activities, the witness said that the student wing of the movement had gone astray by misinterpreting the Quran. He had said that uncertainty has developed between the Buddhist and Muslim communities as a result of religious divisions even among schools.
