Colombo (News 1st): A report issued by the Auditor General's Department shows that there is a need to implement an action plan to revive homoeopathy which is one of the main medical systems in the country. A recent report by the Auditor General's Department on the Homoeopathic Medical Council reveals that although the establishment of a medical school was initiated in 2008, it was not completed until 2019 The registration list has not been updated to identify the doctors who have renewed the registration. Apart from not establishing an internal audit division for the Homoeopathic Medical Council, no internal audit has been conducted through the Internal Audit Division of the Ministry of Health. The Auditor General's report also identified a number of management inefficiencies. Through the auditor's report, a number of shortcomings in the Homoeopathic Medical Council's annual action plan were also identified. The report emphasizes the need to take immediate action to achieve the professional goals and objectives of the homoeopathic medical profession.
