Colombo (News 1st) - President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is due to meet Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today on his official two-day visit to India.
President's Media Director General Mohan Samaranayake said the welcome ceremony for President Rajapaksa will be held at the Indian President's House today. He said bilateral talks will be held with the Indian Premier focusing on areas of mutual importance such as security, politics, and the economy.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's first visit to India as head of state follows an invitation by the Indian Premier.
President Rajapaksa will also pay his respects at the Mahathma Gandhi Memorial today. The Sri Lankan President reached the Indira Gandhi International Airport last evening and was welcomed by the Minister of Transport and Highways, Professor VK Singh and several other officials.
