Colombo (News 1st): Sirasa TV won the teledrama channel of the year award at the 24th Sumathi Tele awards ceremony. The award ceremony was held at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre.
Thisuri Yuwanika who acted in the Minigandela teledrama that aired on Sirasa TV won the Best Actress award. Uddhika Premarathne who also acted in the Minigandela teledrama was awarded as the best actor.
Nayomi Thakshila and Sumiran Gunasekara who are lead roles in the Neela Pabalu teledrama won the award for the most popular actress and actor awards.
Editor of the teledrama Thatha, Indika Jayawardene was awarded as the best teledrama editor.
Art Directors of Minigandela Dhammika Hewadhuwatta and Sarathchandra Jayawickrama won the award for the best Art Director of the year. Nalin Premathilaka won the award for the best casting in Minigandela. Lalith Rathnayake won the Best Screenplay award for the teledrama Thatha also aired on Sirasa TV.
Camera Director of the teledrama Thatha Sajith Weerapperuma won the award for the best Camera Director. Yashoda Rasaduni was awarded as the best supporting actress and Dasun Pathirana won the Best Supporting Actor award for their roles in Thatha.
Sineru Rathnayake won the award for the child star of the year for his role in the same drama. Teledrama Thatha was showered with awards as it won the best teledrama of the year.
Hemasiri Liyanage won the special award from the jury for his acting masterpiece in Thatha.
Moreover, News 1st Thilakshani Madhuwanthi won the award for best Investigative News Reporter at the 24th Sumathi Tele awards ceremony.
A subsidiary of The Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited AF Jones Exporters Ceylon (Private) Limited won the best commercial of the year for their flagship product ''Ape The''.
