COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Ministry of Higher Education states that a cabinet paper will be presented requesting that the wage anomalies of the non-academic staff of state universities be revised. Secretary of the Ministry, M. M. P. K. Mayadunne states that the cabinet paper will be presented through the subject minister on October 1st. Thereby a new revision into the wage anomalies of the non-academic staff of state universities will be conducted through the Salaries and Statistics Commission. The secretary said that measures have also been taken to notify the matter to the non-academic staff union representatives. The strike action launched by the non-academic staff of state universities enters the 20th day today (September 30). The strike has thoroughly hampered the functioning of universities and also weekend courses.
