Two suspects arrested for a murder in Hatton

Colombo (News 1st): Police arrested a father and son over the murder of an 81-year-old woman in the Wygton Estate in Rozella, Hatton. After the suspects were produced before the Hatton Magistrate's Court and order was made to detain and interrogate the suspects for a period of 48 hours. Police arrested the woman's son and her elder grandson over the murder after recording a statement from an 08-year-old boy. The boy had told the police, his father and elder brother beat his grandmother with a pole, put her inside a gunny bag and took it away. Thereafter, the body of the woman was discovered inside an agrarian well located behind the house. The post-mortem into the death will take place on Monday.
