Colombo(News1st) - Police stated that 293 individuals have been arrested in connection with the 04/21 attack.
Police media spokesperson, SP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that investigations on these 293 suspects are over. He further added that 115 are remanded and further investigations are conducted on the other 178 suspects. It was also mentioned by him that 100 bank accounts of 41 suspects have been frozen while having the CID seize over Rs.134 million. He further mentioned that over Rs.20 million which belonged to these terrorist groups have been seized by the Criminal Investigation Department noting that assets with an estimated valued over Rs.6 billion have been identified by the CID. He added that the CID has already recorded statements from 81 victims who were injured at the attack at the St.Anthony's Church in Kochikade along with 7 other injured victims who received treatment at the Colombo General Hospital and the Kalubovila Hospital. He unfolded that there were difficulties in getting in contact with them due to errors in the addresses provided by them adding that statements should be recorded from these 7 victims to conclude investigations.
The aforementioned 7 victims were identified as Dileep Raj, Jayasudewan Karawanella, Lakshana, F. Stanley, S.R Fernando, Alexander Stars Kin, and Awalan Victor.
