Suspect remanded for grabbing Police firearm

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An individual who attempted to forcefully obtain a firearm from a police officer in Urubokka, has been arrested. Police stated the suspect was remanded until the 11th of June after he was presented before the Morawaka Acting Magistrate. The police officer was deployed for security purposes at an event held at the Urubokka, Beralapanatara Primary School at the time of the incident. The suspect is a 43-year-old resident of Kekulandeniya.
