Colombo (News 1st): Speaking at a media briefing today (May 29) UPFA MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara noted that a father of one of the 04/21 bombers was on the national list at the last election. He noted that he was the candidate from the JVP.
While pointing this out he added that a working committee was appointed by parliament to probe into the 04/21 attacks and a member of the JVP was appointed into this committee.
He questioned; "Isn't there a conflict of interest here? How can a MP from the JVP be on the working committee?"
He went onto note that he is writing a letter to the speaker to question him as to how he could appoint a MP from the JVP to the working committee when there is evidently a conflict of interest. He pointed out that this is against their principles.
