99% confident of national security-President

COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Maithripala Sirisena declared that he is 99% confident of national security. His Excellency made this statement as he met several diplomats to discuss the progress of the operations carried out by the security forces to restore order in the country. The delegates from the US, UK, Japan, Germany, Australia, Canada and member countries of the Europe Union were a present at the press conference. According to the President's media division, the president was grateful for the unwavering support of the foreign nations in the time of need. The president went on to note that Sri Lanka still requires assistance from foreign countries to establish economic stability in the country by lifting the travel advisories issued to tourists following the 4/21 attacks. The delegates at the scene had promised the president they would take necessary steps to lift the travel advisory issued by their countries. When the envoys inquired the reason behind the extension of the state of emergency, the president replied it was prolonged for another month because of the ongoing operations conducted by the security forces. In the announcement released by the President's media division, it was mentioned that president had noted that reorganization of the security services, the formation of new laws and establishment of new state institutions are underway to avoid any sort of terrorist attacks in the future.
