Survey to identify drug addicts islandwide

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Interim Committee appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena to rehabilitate those addicted to narcotic drugs has decided to conduct a survey in order to identify drug addicts islandwide. Member of the committee, Dr. Samantha Kithalawaarachchi said the survey will be conducted at Grama Niladhari level. The survey will begin next week and will be conducted for three weeks. Dr. Kithalawarachchi requested the general public to assist in identifying drug addicts. He further noted that a special program is currently underway for the rehabilitation of drug addicts.
