UNP MP Chaminda Wijesiri at Bandarawela Magistrate's Court

COLOMBO (News 1st) - UNP MP Chaminda Wijesiri who was accused of assaulting a police constable arrived at the Bandarawela Magistrates Court a while ago. The assault occurred as a result of an argument with the officials of the Narcotics Bureau that took place last Sunday (February 10). One of the police constables who sustained injuries in the altercation was admitted to the Bandarawela hospital. The driver of the MP who had also admitted himself to the hospital for being injured was taken into custody last Monday (February 11).
