COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ceylon Teachers Union states that the teachers and officials who participated in the evaluation of the 2018 GCE Advanced Level examination have not been paid any allowances for their services so far.
The Union's secretary Mahinda Jayasinghe said that a letter had been sent to the Commissioner of Exams reminding him of the fees payable to the teachers. He added that teachers who are yet to receive this payment have been inconvenienced as a result of the three-month delay in payment.
When News1st contacted the Commissioner General of Examinations, Sanath B. Pujitha in this regard he said that payments will happen within the next few days. He added that the payment of fees payable to these teachers will be completed by the 30th of this month.
