Beware of dengue

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The health sector warns of an increase in potential dengue patients. Community Specialist of the Dengue Eradication Unit of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Priscilla Samaraweera said, that this could occur due to an increase in the density of mosquito larvae owing to the prevailing weather. She added, that the density of mosquito larvae has significantly risen in the Western, Wayamba, Nothern and Eastern provinces. While 41,000 dengue cases have been reported thus far this year, 45 dengue-related deaths have also been reported.
