Phase 1 and 3 of Central Expressway delayed

Colombo (News1st) - Phase 1 and 3 of the controversial central expressway project which has become one of the main projects triumphed by the current administration has been delayed. Addressing an event held today Minister Lakshman Kiriella, who is in charge of Public Enterprise & Kandy City Development, explained that they plan to declare open phase 2 of the central expressway by August 2019. He explained that the other two sections of the expressway are suffering delays in construction. Hilariously the minister believes that by constructing only Phase 2 of the central expressway  (Meerigama to Kurunegala) will shorten the time taken for a motorist to reach Colombo. The Minister stated, "..You could come along the highway to Katunayake then come to Meerigama and then arrive in Kandy via Kurunegala.." With election season fast approaching it seems that the Minister if adamant on showing his constituents how much work he has been able to accomplish during his time as a minister.
