COLOMBO (News 1st) - Senior administrative officer Udaya R Seneviratne has assumed duties as the new Secretary to the president at the Presidential Secretariat.
According to the Presidents' Media Division, he assumed duties this afternoon. The post of Secretary to the President was left vacant following Austin Fernando's resignation yesterday (July 05).
Seneviratne is a Senior Administrative Officer who served as Secretary to the Ministries of;
- Science and Technology
- Sports
- Highways and Investments
- Environment and Mahaweli Development
In addition, he held the position of Additional Secretary at several Ministries and boasts 37 years of experience in State Service.
Seneviratne was instrumental in establishing the National Institute of Co-operative Development in Polgolla and rendered his services to a number large scale projects in the country.
