Extra Transport Arranged For Sinhala And Tamil New Year

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Special transport services are in operation today for people traveling to their hometowns for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Deputy General Manager (Operations) of the Sri Lanka Transport Board, T. H. R. T. Chandrasiri, stated that additional buses have been arranged and will be operated as required.

Meanwhile, the Department of Railways is also operating special train services today for the convenience of New Year travelers.

Accordingly, 40 additional train services will run to destinations including Badulla, Beliatta, Anuradhapura, Galle, and Kankesanthurai.

The number of carriages in the Yal Devi and Rajarata Rajina trains has also been increased.
