Seat Belt Compliance to Be Strictly Monitored on Expressways from June 19

COLOMBO (News 1st) –The National Council for Road Safety says that legal action will be taken against both drivers and passengers traveling on expressways without wearing seat belts. 

Chairman of the Council, Manjula Kularatne, stated that the period granted for vehicle owners to install seat belts for rear seats in vehicles will end on June 19.

Kularatne stated that enforcement of this regulation will be strengthened following the deadline on the June 19.

Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against violations as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety.
