World Blood Donor Day Commemorated Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The World Blood Donor Day is being commemorated today under the theme "One Drop of Humanity. Donate Blood. Save Lives."

According to the National Blood Transfusion Service, 100% of Sri Lanka’s blood requirement is met through voluntary blood donors.

The National Blood Transfusion Service stated that more than 467,000 units of blood were collected to meet the blood needs of nearly one million people across the country during the past year.
