Suspect Arrested for Attacking Deputy Mayor of Kandy

COLOMBO(News1st): A suspect has been arrested for allegedly assaulting the Deputy Mayor of the Kandy Municipal Council.

Police say that the assault occurred during a dispute that broke out during a religious program in Suduhumpola, Kandy.

The arrested suspect is currently receiving treatment at the Peradeniya Hospital.

Further investigations into the incident are underway.
