Colombo Municipal Council Announces Salary And Allowance Hike

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Colombo Municipal Council announced a Rs. 10,000 increase in the salaries of preschool teachers.

According to Colombo Municipal Commissioner Palitha Nanayakkara the monthly salary, which was previously Rs. 20,000, will rise to Rs. 30,000.

Teachers are expected to receive the revised salary starting February.

The Commissioner added, that the breakfast allowance for children attending registered Dhamma schools of all religions within the Colombo Municipal Council has been increased from Rs. 60 to Rs. 100.
