COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Customs has achieved a historic revenue milestone, collecting over Rs. 2 trillion for the year 2025. 
According to an official statement, the department is on track to meet its annual revenue target of Rs. 2.115 trillion, marking the highest-ever collection by any government tax authority within a single year.
The record-breaking figure includes Rs. 63 billion from motor vehicle imports, a significant contributor to overall revenue. 
Customs further expressed confidence that by year-end, collections will exceed the target by approximately Rs. 300 billion, reinforcing its role as a key pillar in national revenue generation.
