RDA Takes Steps to Prevent Accidents in Mountainous Districts

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Road Development Authority (RDA) has taken steps to install safety fences along hazardous embankment points in three mountainous districts, following a recent surge in road accidents.

According to the Deputy Director General of the RDA’s Road Safety and Traffic Management Division, K. Chandrakumara, under the first phase of the project, construction will be carried out in the Uva, Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces.

Accordingly, iron fences covering approximately 50 kilometers will be built in identified high-risk zones across the three districts.
