Man Arrested in Matugama with Foreign-Made Firearms and Ammunition

COLOMBO (News 1st); A man was arrested in Nagoda, Matugama with a cache of ammunition, including three foreign-manufactured firearms.

According to Police, the arrest was made during a special operation carried out by the Police Special Task Force (STF).

The 38-year-old suspect, was found in possession of three unlicensed foreign-manufactured firearms, 51 rounds of 9mm live ammunition, 11 rounds of 12-bore bullets, 16 rounds of .38 ammunition, two mobile phones, a pair of handcuffs, and several firearm spare parts.

The suspect has been handed over to the Kalutara Crime Division for further investigation.
