Investigation into Suspicious Death of 7-Year-Old Girl in Passara

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of a seven-year-old girl in Udagama, Passara.

According to police, the girl was admitted to Passara Hospital last night due to an illness and later passed away. She had reportedly been receiving treatment for fever and cold for about a week.

However, police say the death is being treated as suspicious based on a statement by the doctor at Passara Hospital, who observed injury marks on the child's body during examination.

The exact cause of death has not yet been determined. The body has been placed at the Passara Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
