Ragging Allegations Surface in Student's Death: Ministry Launches Probe

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has announced the initiation of an investigation into the sudden death of a student from Sabaragamuwa University.

In a statement, the Ministry highlighted that it is paying close attention to information circulating on social media suggesting that the death was caused by ragging.

The Ministry emphasized that if the investigation reveals that the death was indeed due to such an incident, strict action will be taken against those responsible.

The deceased was a second-year student at the Faculty of Technology at Sabaragamuwa University.
